Mohammed Siraj bowled a historic six-wicket spell to leave Sri Lanka in tatters in the Asia Cup 2023 final. Having won the toss, Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka chose to bat first but his decision backfired spectacularly as Siraj left the Sri Lankan batting order shocked with his four wickets in a single over.
In the fourth over of the Sri Lanka inning Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka on 2 runs, Sadeera Samarawickrama on a duck, Charith Asalanka on a duck and Dhanjaya de Silva on 4 runs.
Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka was also dismissed on a duck in the next over as Sri Lanka collapsed from 8/2 to 12/6. Siraj is the fastest Indian to take a five-wicket haul in ODI history, his five wickets came in just 16 balls, sending social media on fire.
