The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has made a significant decision regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality (NEET SS) round 1 counselling. In response to representations from allocated candidates, the committee has granted permission for the resignation of seats without forfeiture. This deviates from the usual protocol where resignations are not permitted from Round 1 onwards in Super Speciality Counselling.
The MCC communicated this decision through an official notice, stating, “As per the counselling scheme, resignation is not allowed Round-1 onwards in SS Counselling. However, in the larger interest of candidates, the competent authority has decided to allow resignation without forfeiture for seats allotted to such candidates in Round-1 of SS Counselling 2023 conducted by MCC.”
Deadline for Seat Resignation Announced
To facilitate this process, the MCC has outlined a specific timeline for candidates willing to resign their seats. According to the committee’s directives, candidates are required to submit their seat allotment letter and an undertaking to the MCC via email at [email protected] by 11:00 A.M on November 29, 2023. Only those candidates who adhere to this deadline and submit the necessary documents will be permitted to resign.
The MCC has established a designated time window for the INI SS seat resignation process, allowing candidates to initiate the resignation process between 2:00 pm on November 29 and 5:00 pm on November 30, 2023. The committee has explicitly instructed candidates who wish to resign their INI SS seats to approach their allocated colleges within the stipulated timeframe to complete the resignation process and retrieve their original documents.
Online Resignation Procedure
It is crucial for candidates to ensure that the resignation letter is generated online through the MCC portal by the college authorities. Any offline resignation undertaken by the college will be deemed ‘Null & Void’ underscoring the significance of adhering to the established online procedure for resignations.
This development brings a temporary relaxation in the resignation norms for the benefit of candidates participating in the NEET SS Counselling 2023, allowing them to navigate the process with greater flexibility during this specified timeframe. Any offline resignation taken by the college will be treated as ‘Null & Void’, MCC further said.
