Sweaters and mufflers out, winter is here in north India as citizens feel the chill amid rains bringing down the temperature further. The changing weather has brought another good news for Delhiites as Centre has revoked restrictions under Stage III of GRAP in the entire NCR with, following improvement in air quality.
The India Meteorological Department has issued rainfall alerts for multiple regions, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east and west Madhya Pradesh.
The IMD said that it expects dense fog-like conditions in the morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on Wednesday.
Delhi will experience partly cloudy sky on Wednesday with shallow fog in the morning. The very light rain or drizzle is likely to occur towards night, the forecast read.

The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 25 and 12 degree Celsius respectively. On Tuesday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the national capital were settled at 25 and 13.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
Delhi Air Improves, Curbs on All Petrol, Diesel Cars Removed
The move paves the way for the removal of restrictions on the operation of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar. The Delhi government’s Transport Department is likely to issue an order on it.

“Keeping in view the disruptive nature of restrictions under Stage-III of GRAP impacting a large number of stakeholders and public as well as considering the significant improvement in the average AQI of Delhi-NCR, the GRAP Sub-Committee unanimously decided to revoke Stage-III of GRAP in the entire NCR with immediate effect,” the Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas said.
Actions under Stages-I to Stage-II of GRAP shall however remain invoked and “be implemented, intensified, monitored and reviewed by all agencies concerned in NCR to ensure that the AQI levels do not slip further to the ‘Severe’ category, the CAQM said.
Weather in Other Parts of India
Moving down in west and south India, the weather agency has predicted rains in Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe.
Kolkata will witness partly cloudy sky on Wednesday with maximum and minimum temperatures to be around 29 and 20 degree Celsius, respectively. The dry weather will prevail over Sikkim and sub Himalayan West Bengal.
The northeast monsoon has been active over the southern part of the state. The light to moderate rain at many places with thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Pudukkottai, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi districts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
In Nicobar Island, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall is likely.

Strong wind speed reaching 25 to 35 kmph gusting to 45 45 kmph is also likely to prevail over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Andaman and Nicobar Islands on November 29.
The sea condition, thus, will be rough. The Met office has advised the fishermen not to venture into the sea during the period.
