'Who Doesn't Like...': Lungi Ngidi Celebrates Nandre Burger's Impressive Debut With Hilarious Post
Nandre Burger made a fine start to his Test career, taking seven wickets against India in Centurion.

Nandre Burger, the newest addition to the South African pace battery, left an impression with his superb performance on debut in the recently concluded Centurion Test against India.

The 28-year-old speedster spitted fire with the new ball and fetched himself seven wickets across the two innings.

Following a notable debut, Burger’s South Africa teammate Lungi Ngidi shared a hilarious post on Instagram celebrating the debutant’s show.

“I mean who doesn’t like a burger,” Ngidi shared a story on Instagram.

Ngidi is also part of the South African squad for the ongoing two-match Test series against India at home but missed the opening game due to a fitness issue.

Burger kicked off his career in provincial cricket in the 2015-16 season. He made his name while playing for Highveld Lions.

Burger finished as the leading wicket-taker at the 2017-18 provincial one-day cup, which is the second-tier of List-A cricket in South Africa.

In July, he earned a call-up for South Africa’s emerging team. In the same year, he got an opportunity to represent Cape Town Blitz in the Mzansi Super League Twenty20, replacing an injured Anrich Nortje.

Burger honed his skills in the domestic circuit for a few more years before making his international debut in the T20I series against India earlier this month.

He showed his potential during the three-match series but proved to be costly at times.

He also featured in the ODI series against the Men in Blue before making his Test debut during the Boxing Day Test.

Burger sent off Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill early on Day 1 of the contest at the SuperSport Park.

KL Rahul, who was the standout batter for India in the first innings, also fell victim to Burger right after completing his century.

Powered by Dean Elgar’s 185, South Africa posted 408 runs on the board, taking a lead of 163 runs.

South Africa unleashed a more dangerous version of Burger during India’s second innings. He grabbed a four-wicket haul, dismissing Jaiswal, Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj. Courtesy of his lethal bowling, India were bundled out for just 131 runs on Day 3.

Burger will hope to continue his sublime form when India and South Africa go head-to-head for the second Test, beginning on January 3 in Cape Town.
