New Delhi: AAP MLA Somnath Bharti and his wife Lipika Mitra attended second round of counselling session at Delhi Police's Crime Against Women (CAW) cell in Dwarka on Thursday.
During the two hour long counselling session held at CAW cell in Dwarka, they were given an opportunity to talk out and sort out their grievances and issues, said a senior police officer.
They had attended the first counselling session at the CAW office a few days ago. The third counselling session is scheduled to be held after a gap to provide ample opportunities to let them solve their domestic problems, he said.
In her 26 page complaint submitted to Delhi Commission for Women, Lipika had levelled serious allegations of domestic violence against Bharti.
Later, she had Lipika filed a police complaint against him accusing him of "domestic violence" and "torture" at DCP of South West and her complaint was transferred to CAW cell.
Lipika said that "although the police were pushing her and Somnath for reconciliation, she did not agree to the terms and conditions offered and strictly wanted action against him."
"We are trying to help them to reach to an amicable resolution of their dispute as it is our effort in all cases of complaints of domestic violence and marital discord," said the officer.
The police has not registered any FIR on Lipika's complaint so far.
