Bihar going back on all parameters under Nitish Kumar: Sushil Kumar Modi
Bihar does not need a government that is fighting against the Central government, said Sushil Kumar Modi.

Former Bihar deputy chief minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi hit out at former ally-turned-arch rival and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. While speaking at IBN Dialogue Bihar 2.0, the BJP leader accused the JDU leader of pushing Bihar to political instability.

Questioning the JDU’s decision to end alliance with BJP "just because one individual was named as a PM candidate", Modi said, "People gave two-third mandate to JDU-BJP combine in 2010, and not to any individual."

"Did you get the decisive mandate for politics of addition and subtraction?" said Modi, directing his attack at the Bihar Chief Minister.

Claiming that not a single scheme had been started by Kumar in the last few months, the BJP leader said, "Bihar is going back on all parameters...The Nitish Kumar government could not do anything in the last 25 months, it is only with the support of BJP that there was work in Bihar which Nitish Kumar is counting on."

"The performance of BJP ministers in the coalition government in Bihar was far better than that of the other ministers in Nitish Kumar government," he added.

Referring to the recent war of words between Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sushil Kumar Modi said that "Bihar does not need a government that is fighting against the Central government".

"For the development of Bihar, it is important that the governments in Centre and state are of the same coalition," said Modi.

Appealing to voters to give a chance to the BJP in the upcoming elections, Modi said that the party has fulfilled all its responsibilities honestly. "We were honest as ally, and we have been honest as opposition as well," he said.

The BJP leader also took on Kumar on his decision to appoint Jitan Ram Manjhi, who is fighting the Bihar polls in coordination with the NDA, saying, "Nitish Kumar tried to use Jitan Ram Manjhi as a dummy but failed."
