Bihar State Assembly passes Lokayukta Bill

New Delhi: The Bihar State Assembly on Wednesday passed Lokayukta Bill.

Earlier, the Nitish Kumar government on December 1 approved the Bihar Lokayukta Bill, 2011. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat).

The state government had last month drafted the bill bringing the chief minister among others under its purview and invited suggestions for fine tuning the proposed legislation by a three-member ministerial committee headed by the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.
