Mumbai: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are looking at the possibilities of forming the government in Maharashtra following the party's good show in the Assembly elections. There were reports of BJP reaching out to the Sena as the party might not get majority in the state and discussions are also on having rotational chief minister, say sources.

Senior BJP leaders Devendra Fadnavis, Vinod Tawde and Om Mathur also spoke party President Amit Shah to discuss the scenario.

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said, "We have always said that Shiv Sena is not our opponent."

Shiv Sena also hinted at reaching out to its former ally BJP. Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai said, "War was restricted to electoral battle, it's over now. The atmosphere is conducive now."

"The kind of statements that came from both sides indicates that we are ready to move on. The bitterness should be left behind," he added.

The Sena and BJP broke their 25-year-old alliance as both the parties were adamant on the number of seats they wanted to contest on. While the Sena struck to the demand of at least 150 seats, the BJP wanted 130 for itself.
