Chennai: BJP's South Chennai Lok Sabha candidate L Ganesan does not own any immovable assets and has only Rs 3.07 lakh movable property, including a gold studded 'rudraksha mala' and cash of Rs 20,000.
Ganesan was among several candidates who filed their nominations on Tuesday when filing of papers for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu resumed today after two holidays.
According to the affidavit filed by him, 69-year-old Ganesan, former BJP state unit president, he has Rs 1 lakh in fixed deposit, Rs 1.32 lakh in his savings bank account, Rs 20,000 cash in hand besides the 'rudraksha mala' made with gold weighing 25 gms worth Rs 75,000.
Ganesan does not own any agricultural land or residential or commercial property, it said.
He has declared himself a "social worker" in the affidavit and has completed Class tenth in 1960 from the Veeraraghavan High School, Thanjavur.
For the financial year 2012-13, Ganesan has filed total income of Rs 1,83,050, the affidavit said.
In 2009 elections, Ganesan has declared Rs 9,950 cash in hand and Rs 47,920 in his savings bank account. Besides, he had also owned a gold ring weighing four grams.
