New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday termed the scuffle between the Bhartiya Janta Party and the party MPs as an unfortunate incident.
"I have been briefed about the incident. Parliament is a pillar of democracy. BJP MPs used foul language against us. Our MPs have been mishandled and misbehaved. I am disgusted over what happened", said Banerjee.
Ugly scenes were witnessed in the Lok Sabha when BJP and TMC members came to the verge of a clash over the Railway Budget.
TMC MPs alleged that some BJP MPs threatened to beat them in Lok Sabha. The TMC also alleged that one of the BJP MPs was drunk but they cannot say who it was.
While speaking about the Railway Budget, Banerjee said, "Bengal has been deprived in the Rail Budget. We have told the government that we will do constructive criticism. It's a democratic right of MPs from a state to ask for state's dues. It's not a question of Bihar or Bengal, all regional parties needs to be united, otherwise BJP will have an upper hand."
