New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi started his Jan Sampark Abhiyan in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday but not before his own party workers stopped his cavalcade and also clashed over ticket distribution for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls.

Security Breach was reported after Rahul Gandhi's cavalcade was stopped by supporters of Subodh Srivastav, who has been denied ticket. Subodh is seeking assembly ticket from Lucknow Central.

Earlier, his yatra was marred by clashes between two groups within the Congress.

Clash took place between Beni Prasad and PL Punia supporters over ticket distribution.

His campaign has started in Barabanki and comes a day after the Chief Minister Mayawati virtually 'bulldozed' through the opposition to get the resolution passed to splt the state into four.

His 5-day tour would culminate into a public rally in Kushinagar on the November 26. After launching a no-holds barred attack on Mayawati and Samajwadi Party in Phulpur, Rahul will be making another attempt to reach out to the people of UP, the state that's gearing up for polls early next year.

Rahul will be addressing district level public meetings in the 6 districts.
