Imphal: A clear lead for the Congress in Manipur. Congress is likely to return to power with Chief Minister Ibobi Singh on way to a hat-trick. The ruling party appears set to retain power in Manipur by bagging 29 seats and leading in 12 others in the 60-member Assembly as per the trends available for 59 seats. According to latest reports, Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has defeated his nearest rival O Indira of BJP in Thoubal assembly constituency by over 10,000 votes.
Congress candidate Chalonlien Amo won the Tipaimukh assembly seat in Manipur defeating his nearest Trinamool Congress rival L Fimate by over 1000 votes. Trinamool Congress nominee Kh Joykishang won the prestigious Thangmeiband assembly seat defeating his nearest Congress rival Jotin Waikhom by over 300 votes. Former chief minister and NCP president Radhabinod Koijam stood third.
Yamthong Haokip of Congress won the Saikul assembly seat defeating his nearest NCP rival Doukhomang Haokip by over 200 votes. Abdul Nasir of Congress won the Lilong seat defeating Trinamool Congress nominee Md Alaudin. Trinamool Congress candidate K Sarat Singh won the Kongthoujam assembly seat defeating Congress nominee S Ranjan by over 500 votes.
Amin Shah of Congress won the Khetrigao assembly seat defeating his nearest NCP rival Th Nandakishore by over 200 votes. State Congress chief Gaikhangam won the pretigious Nungba seat defeating Manipur State Congress Party candidate Admi Panmei by over 3000 votes.
Lok Jana Sakti Party candidate Karam Shyam defeated veteran Manipur People Party leader O Joy in the prestigious Langthabal assembly seat by over 700 votes. Joy had represented the seat for over five terms.
Congress candidate and Social Welfare minister N Loken won the Nambol seat defeating former union sports minister Th Chaoba Singh of Manipur People's Party by over 900 votes.
Forest Minister and Congress candidate, Th Debendra Singh won the Jiribam seat defeating A Biren of Trinamool Congress by over 2000 votes.

Congress candidate Kh Debendra won the Sekmai assembly seat defeating Trinamool Congress nominee Kh Dingo Singh by over 600 votes. Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) candidate Karam Thamarjit Singh won the Keirao seat defeating Minority minister Alaudin of Congress by over 500 votes.
Congress candidate and wife of chief minister O Landhoni won the Khangabok seat defeating Manipur People's Party nominee L Jatra by over 200 votes. Naga People's Front nominee Daikho defeated his nearest Congress rival PT Arhai by over 2000 votes in the Mao assembly constituency.
Congress leader and Education minister DD Thaisi was defeated by Naga People's Front candidate Alexandar Pou by 7000 votes in Karong assembly constituency.####
