Srinagar: Normal life was disrupted in Kashmir Valley on Wednesday during a partial bandh called by hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
The Hurriyat faction led by Geelani is protesting against moderate Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's scheduled meetings with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
Geelani – who has the backing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen - has accused Mirwaiz of a sellout on the Kashmir issue and the divide showed on the streets of Srinagar.
For long, Geelani has blamed Mirwaiz of not being true to the cause of Kashmir. Mirwaiz recently blamed Geelani being stuck in history.
While Srinagar Civil Lines observed the strike called by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, areas supportive of Mirawiz functioned normally.
