New Delhi: A day after Bharatiya Janata Party patriarch LK Advani's name plate was removed from his office inside Parliament, Pro-tem Speaker Kamal Nath has issued a statement saying that due respect should be given to him. Kamal Nath has said, "Due respect must be given to LK Advani and also UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi".
The room which belonged to Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the NDA Chairperson was being used by LK Advani as the acting Chairperson of the NDA. The latest developments have led to speculation that BJP might name a new acting chairman for the NDA.
Advani has been sitting in the BJP office in Parliament for the past few days.
Since the BJP has absolute majority on its own, the NDA does not have much influence over the government and the post of the Chairman will be a nominal authority.
