Bharatiya Janata Party MP Yogi Adityanath is Avaidyanath's successor.
New Delhi: Centre on Monday decided to issue postage stamp in memory of former MP Mahant Avaidyanath.
Avaidyanath, who had been in the forefront of the movement for Ram Temple in Ayodhya, died in September, 2014 after prolonged illness.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Yogi Adityanath is Avaidyanath's successor.
The government had recently decided to discontinue stamps of former prime ministers, Rajiv and Indira Gandhi, under the new definitive theme of postal stamps. Centre replaced 'Builders of Modern India' theme, which included stamps of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi, with 'Makers of India' theme.
