Gujarat govt is anti-people, alleges Sonia Gandhi
Sonia Gandhi said that the Gujarat government was using government machinery for political purpose.

Siddhpur: UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday alleged that Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government in Gujarat is "anti-people". She also said that there was no law and order in Gujarat.

Addressing a rally in Siddhpur in poll-bound Gujarat, Sonia said that the Gujarat government was using government machinery for political purpose. "I ask state government that despite central assistance why are there so many villages in the state without power connection," she questioned state government.

Sonia alleged that the Modi government discriminates while spending funds in the state. "The state government does not have money for the poor. It has funds only for a few selected ones," she said in her speech.

The Congress chief is also scheduled to address a rally in Sevalia in the Kheda district of central Gujarat on Monday. Party general secretary Rahul Gandhi will make his first appearance in the poll-bound state on Tuesday.

Both the Congress and the BJP are leaving no stones unturned to woo voters and attack each other. While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday alleged that Modi has always indulged in the politics of divide and rule, the Gujarat Chief Minister hit out at Singh saying the Congress will be in a minority in Gujarat after the Assembly elections.
