New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday refuted claims made by Mehbooba Mufti, saying she had not misquoted PDP chief's statement on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Sushma said that Mufti have made the statement in the presence of over hundred people.
"I correctly quoted Ms Mehbooba Mufti in Ahmedabad yesterday. It was not a private conversation. I only quoted what she spoke in the presence of over a hundred people in the afternoon session of the National Integration Council (NIC) meeting on September 10," she said on Twitter.
Speaking at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's fast, Sushma had said on Monday that it was great that even rivals like Mehbooba Mufti are praising the Gujarat Chief Minister.
Earlier, PDP chief said that she was misquoted by Sushma Swaraj.
"It's all baseless. It is very unfortunate that the Leader of Opposition has misquoted me," she said.
