Corruption allegations continue to haunt Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's government in Karnataka. The government has come under fire for allotting prime lands at throwaway prices for construction of Congress party offices in the state. The allocation of prime lands in Belagavi, Vijayapura, Mysuru and Bengaluru are under the scanner.
In Belagavi, the government has allotted a 10 thousand Sq Feet land worth crores for construction of District Congress Committee office at a meagre Rs 54 lakh. The market value for the piece of land is pegged at Rs 15 crore while. As per government fixed rates, the land is valued at over Rs 7 crore.
