LS polls: AAP to field another journalist Anita Pratap from Ernakulam
Pratap will reportedly be taking on Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Prof. K V Thomas from Ernakulam in Kerala.

New Delhi: It seems the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) infatuation with journalists is not limited to Delhi as media reports suggest that the party may field senior journalist Anita Pratap from Ernakulam constituency in Kerala.

Anita Pratap who has worked with international media giants like CNN and Time before working with several Indian publications will reportedly take on Union Minister Prof KV Thomas in the Lok Sabha elections.

According to a report in media website Sans Serif, Anita Pratap while talking to a newspaper said "I don't see myself as a politician. There is no fundamental change in my aim. I took up journalism as an important democratic tool and I wanted to be the voice and face of millions. There is a fire in my belly and I needed to get to the political stage to encourage the right kind of decisions. My aim is still the same, to be a representative of the common people."

"I am not here to defeat Prof Thomas. I am here because my heart is in this place. I am from Kerala and I wanted to be here for my people. I believe in what the Bhagvat Gita says, 'do your duty, reward is not your concern'," she added.

Anita Pratap is one of the first Indian journalists to come face to face with the LTTE chief V Prabhakaran. Her book on the LTTE is widely read.

The AAP already has six journalists in its list of Lok Sabha candidates. The brigade includes Ashutosh who is a former Managing Editor of a Hindi news channel. He wille be contesting elections from Chandni Chowk against Union Minister Kapil Sibal. Ashish Khetan is the founder of investigative website gulail.com is AAP's candidate from New Delhi seat.
