New Delhi: A proposed meeting between Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not materialise on Wednesday.
Since the time for the meeting with the Prime Minister could not be finalised, the meeting will not take place on Wednesday, said a close aide of Mamata.
Earlier, Trinamool Congress sources said the Prime Minister has invited Banerjee for a meeting on Wednesday, though the time was not fixed.
In fast-paced political developments over the Presidential poll candidates, Mamata met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Mamata has been demanding a financial package for the state for quite some time.
