New Delhi: After its resounding victory in the Rajouri Garden bypoll, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now trained its eyes on retaining the MCD, for which elections will be held on April 23. The BJP has been in power for the the past 10 years and has now released its manifesto for the polls. These are the top promises of the party:
- There would be no new taxes
- Provision of cow shelters, provision of food for cows
- The MCD would become completely digital
- The release of funds for projects would become faster
- subsidised food thali at Rs 10 under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana
- Licences for events would be issued through a single-window system
- Delhi would become garbage-free
- Garbage from landfill sites would be used to build highways
- Advanced machines to be used for garbage cleaning
- Markets in the national capital would be cleaned every night
- Restrooms for MCD workers
- There would be focus on increase in trees, playgrounds and the environment in general
