Bhopal: Taking a cue from Bollywood movie ‘3 Idiots’, Madhya Pradesh minister Vishwas Sarang has claimed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s Mandsaur speech was inspired by Chatur Ramalingam’s hilarious oration in the film.
One of the protagonists, Rancho (played by Aamir Khan), had replaced the words ‘chamatkar’ (magic) and ‘dhan’ (wealth) from the written speech of Chatur or ‘Silencer’ as a prank. The change of words turned his address into a funny one.
Comparing Gandhi’s speech to the movie character’s, Minister of State for Cooperatives said on Thursday, “Like the movie 3 Idiots, Rahul Gandhi read out the speech written by someone else. It was dramatic, immature and clearly scripted. There were no facts and data. He talked about setting up food processing units in the district. Only a week ago Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan had talked about food processing.”
“The food chain Gandhi talks about is actually a ‘fraud chain’ and Robert Vadra is a prominent character of this chain,” he alleged, adding that the Congress president was “doing politics on the dead”.
After Gandhi announced that his party would waive farm loans within 10 days if it comes to power in Madhya Pradesh, Sarang denied any possibility of writing off farmers’ loans in the BJP government. The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh is providing loans to farmers at zero per cent rate, the minister said, adding "This is not a loan but a financial assistance."
He further said that MP farmers were already happy and the state government was working on a long-term plan to benefit them.
Interestingly, the MP government has time and again denied possibility of farm loan waiver, saying that the government has been persisting with several farmer-friendly measures and the most prominent one was farm loans at 0% interest, that too with 10% subsidy on principal amount.
Sarang also attacked Gandhi for promising cell phones with 'Made in Mandsaur' tag. “First materialise ‘Made in Amethi’ and observe Multai incident anniversary before claiming such things in MP,” he said.
