Pankaja Munde breaks her silence on alleged scams, says ready to quit politics if found guilty
Munde said, "There are no irregularities by me and charges are false. The transaction has no element of corruption."

Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Pankaja Munde on Wednesday broke her silence and denied any wrongdoing on her party. Munde, who is accused of being involved in two scams, said that she will quit politics if found guilty.

Munde said, "There are no irregularities by me and charges are false. The transaction has no element of corruption. I will furnish all proof and all documents to the anti-corruption bureau. I'm ready to quit politics if I am found guilty."

Munde has been under opposition's attack for allegedly flouting norms in a Rs-206 crore order to purchase chikki, mats and books without floating tenders for the same. In yet another case, she is being accused of awarding contract to build dam to private contractor without e-tender.

Rural Development and Water Conservation Minister Munde approved a contract to a company headed by industrialist Ratnakar Gutte to build dams in jalna district. Her move came under scrutiny because though the company was the lowest bidder in the e-tendering, it was disqualified under a technicality.

Refuting the charges of favouring Gutte, Munde said, "I did not interfere in any project, nor did I favour anyone. I know Ratnakar Gutte. He never approached me. I delegated all rights to collector and asked him to do the right thing."
