Petrol price: TMC upset, but to stay in Cabinet
We have been kept in the dark before any decision on fuel price hike, TMC General Secretary Sudip Bandhopadhya said.

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress on Friday said that there were no decisions taken for pulling out from the government in the party meeting.

Also no ministers will be pulled out of Cabinet. The meeting was chaired by Mukul Roy, who is also Minister of State, Shipping. For now, the TMC has decided not to upset the UPA apple-cart with any minmsiterial pull-outs. But Mamata will take the final call once MPs submit their resolution TO her.

"We have decided to present our resolution to Mamata Banerjee. We all have expressed our views. We are concerned about price rise. We have been kept in the dark before any decision on fuel price hike," TMC General Secretary Sudip Bandhopadhya said.

"Final decision rests with Mamata. MPs will now submit their resolution to Mamata at Writers Buildings, he added.

Earlier, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee expressed displeasure over not being consulted before the price hike by the government, sources said on Friday.

She issued a whip to all her MPs to oppose it, they said.

Angry over the latest petrol price hike, Trinamool Congress, the second largest constituent of the Congress-led ruling United Progressive Alliance at the centre, called an emergency parliamentary party meeting on Friday to decide the party's future course of action.
