New Delhi: After an unusually aggressive Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi blamed the Speaker for being partial in the Lok Sabha, BJP and Shiv Sena MPs critised him for his behaviour towards the Chair.
"I am glad that he has woken up. It is wrong to raise questions on the role of the chair. Sumitra Mahajan is a neutral speaker. We have the majority here what's wrong in acknowledging that," Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said.
BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy too, blamed Rahul for making comments against the Lok Sabha Speaker. "I believe Rahul is senior Congress leader. If a senior leader has made remark against Speaker, it is uncalled for," Rudy said.
Rahul on Wednesday, took charge in the Lok Sabha to lead his party's demand to discuss the Communal Violence Bill. He entered the well of the House in the Lok Sabha shouting slogans and demanding that the Bill be brought for discussion and passage.
"Only one person's voice is heard, our views aren't heard. We want discussion. The Speaker is partial, we won't tolerate this partiality, only one voice cannot be heard," Rahul said soon after the Lok Sabha was adjourned.
The Congress's demand came after incidents of communal violence Saharanpur and Meerut. The Congress's demand also comes amidst the tension over the Meerut gangrape and conversion case.
