Hyderabad: K T Rama Rao, son of TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, on Wednesday said moving a resolution in Andhra Pradesh Assembly for creation of separate Telangana state was not enough and asked the Centre to introduce a bill in Parliament for this.
He also said TRS would not accept Telangana without the inclusion of Hyderabad in it.
”A resolution in the state Assembly would not be sufficient to create a state", Rama Rao said adding "the real effort is to bring a Bill in Parliament".
While welcoming Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's statement that an appropriate resolution would be moved in the state Assembly for creation of Telangana, the TRS's son hoped the Centre would introduce the Bill in Parliament.
On the question of Hyderabad, he said Hyderabad has been the capital of the region for the last 400 years and they would not accept a separate state without the city.
Bringing a resolution in the Assembly would be a "positive move" Rama Rao said.
Asked why he thought an Assembly resolution for creation of Telangana was not sufficient, he said, "This is only a step forward. The real logical conclusion to this whole effort should be introduction of a Bill in Parliament".
