Sena activists disrupt Kannada movie screening in Pune
Lately, the border row between the K'taka and Maharashtra has taken an ugly turn.

Pune: Activists of the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena have vandalised Ratan theatre in Pune which was scheduled to screen a Kannada film. This is fallout of the ongoing Maharashtra-Karnataka conflict in border town Belgaum.

The incident took place at around 11am in the morning after which the activists headed to a branch of Karnataka Bank and defaced the ATM by smearing saffron colour. They also shouted slogans outside the office.

Lately, the border row between the two states has taken an ugly turn. Last week, in Belgaum, with the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti launched a crusade for inclusion of Marathi-speaking regions in Maharashtra after which the local police came down heavily on the protesters.

A Karnataka state transport bus was also torched in Latur. The state-controlled transport corporations of the two states have now suspended bus services following widespread violence.
