Ahead of the polls, AIADMK has entered into an alliance with Congress rebel leader GK Vasan.
CM Jayalalithaa is likely to face a tough fight in the state from Karnunanidhi-led DMK which is likely to join hands with actor-turned-politician Vijaykanth-led DMDK. In 2011, with 28 seats Vijaykanth became the leader of opposition in the state assembly.
