Vaiko calls for a massive celebration of LTTE chief’s birthday
During Prabhakaran lifetime, it was celebrated with much fanfare in Tamil dominated northern Sri Lanka.

Chennai: The NDA ally and the MDMK Chief Vaiko in a statement called for a massive celebration in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of slain LTTE chief Prabhakaran's 60th birthday. Vaiko wants the people of Tamil Nadu to hold prayer meetings, offer prayers, burst crackers and distribute sweets. LTTE is a banned terrorist organisation in India. Prabhakaran's birthday falls on November 26.

During his lifetime, it was celebrated with much fanfare in Tamil dominated northern Sri Lanka. Prabhakaran was killed by the Sri Lankan military in May 2009. With his death the LTTE became inactive.

Vaiko has been a very vocal supporter of the LTTE since the 1980s.
