New Delhi: With polling day for Varanasi just around the corner, the influential Quami Ekta Dal is set to announce its support for either the Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The party is led by mafia don Mukhtar Ansari who is currently lodged in Agra jail. He had earlier indicated that he might contest against Narendra Modi in Varanasi.
Ansari contested for the Varanasi seat on the BSP ticket in 2009, and garnered 1,80,000 votes. He was narrowly beaten by sitting MP Murli Manohar Joshi by a margin of less than 20,000 votes.
