The stage is set for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to kick-start his Vikas Rath Yatra in full swing from the state capital on Thursday, officially resonating his campaign for UP assembly elections due early next year.

Lucknow: In a significant political development in the midst of rift in Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav flagged off Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s ‘Vikas Rath Yatra’ on Thursday. Netaji’s presence in the mega event sends a clear signal that differences among party leaders and family members are over for now – at least till the crucial Assembly Elections in the state.

“I want to thank Mulayam Singh Yadav for flagging off the event. This election will change national politics and we are confident to form the government,” Akhilesh said.

SP state Chief Shivpal Yadav also accompanied Netaji for the flag-off. Recently, Shivpal Yadav had a bitter power tussle with Akhilesh that came out in the open during a party meeting in Lucknow.
