WB budget proposals superficial: Congress
Finance Minister Amit Mitra could have talked to us and we could have given some positive proposals, the PCC chief said.

Kolkata: Terming the West Bengal budget proposals as "superficial", Congress - an ally of ruling Trinamool Congress in the state - on Friday said several issues were not addressed in it.

"Finance Minister has attempted to put up superficial ideas in his budget... Expectations have not been fulfilled, what the government is thinking in terms of infrastructure development has not been made clear," WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharya told reporters here after the budget proposals were placed in the Assembly.

He said issues regarding cottage and small sector industries were not properly addressed. "There is nothing for self help groups either in the budget," Bhattacharya said.

The PCC chief said, "Finance Minister Amit Mitra could have talked to us and we could have given some positive proposals with regard to the budget."
