Amethi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday denied reports of campaigning in Varanasi. While addressing a rally in Amethi, Priyanka said, "These reports are false, I will not campaign in Varanasi. I will focus on Amethi and Raebareli."
Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and local Congress leader Ajay Rai will be contesting from Varanasi.
While Priyanka is not campaigning in Varanasi, she has constantly been attacking Modi over a number of issues. Referring to the Gujarat snoopgate scandal, Priyanka had said the man who was calling for protection of women was himself spying on a woman.
She also took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party saying, "There is a thinking that is prevailing that says concentrate on single person. Everything should be given to one single person."
Earlier, Priyanka had denied reports of her family not letting her to contest polls. There were reports that Priyanka wanted to contest polls from Varanasi against Modi.
Priyanka also hit out at the Opposition for criticising her father Rajeev Gandhi. She said, "When my father used to talk of computer, the Opposition who is criticising Rahul today criticised him. Rahul Gandhi has a foresight just like Rajiv Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi brought the revolution of milk in Amethi, earlier it was brought from outside."
