'Bhagwan Sabke Hai': TV Host Rashmi Gautam Defends Joyful Ram Mandir Tweets Amid Online Criticism
The actress came under heavy criticism after she expressed her happiness over the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya through her videos and tweets.

Popular Telugu television host Rashmi Gautam, known for her role in the comedy show Jabardasth, stirred controversy recently after expressing her happiness over the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya through videos and tweets. Despite sharing her excitement for the event, Rashmi faced criticism from some netizens.

On the eve of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir, Rashmi posted a video chanting “Jai Shree Ram” while watching the live telecast. She also shared her anticipation for the inauguration, stating, “Getting my saffron saree ready for the big day. Ab se Diwali saal me do baar” (Translation: “From now on, Diwali twice a year”). However, this triggered negative reactions from some users who questioned her actions and beliefs in Hinduism.

Responding to the backlash, Rashmi Gautam took to Twitter on January 21, mentioning her preparations for the ceremony. In a tweet, she wrote, “Getting my saffron saree ready for the big day. Ab se diwali saal me do baar.”

A user criticised her, stating that wearing a saffron saree doesn’t justify any wrongdoings. Rashmi Gautam fired back, expressing her fury and defending herself. She argued that spirituality involves finding a balance between Dharma (duty/righteousness) and Karma (action). In a series of tweets, she questioned whether she had neglected her responsibilities, abandoned her family, avoided paying bills or taxes, or engaged in illegal activities. She emphasised that she had taken care of her family and fulfilled her duties while adhering to the law.

The post addressing the troll has since gone viral, raising extensive debates among her fans on social media platforms.

Rashmi Gautam gained fame through her stint as the host of Jabardasth and has become known for her befitting replies to trolls. The controversy around her expression of joy for the Ram Mandir inauguration adds another chapter to her interactions with netizens.

This incident further showcases the intersection of public figures expressing their beliefs and opinions on social media platforms, often leading to discussions and debates among their followers.
