The recent removal of banners of actors Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram from the NTR Ghat premises at Necklace Road in Hyderabad on Friday has sparked a controversy in the state. While the motive behind the removal of the flex boards and banners is yet unknown, fans of the actors and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporters allege that the decision was probably influenced by Nandamuri Balakrishna aka Balayya.
January 18 marks the death anniversary of actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Several fans of the late actor had probably put up huge banners at the entrance of NTR Ghat of his grandsons Jr NTR, N Kalyan Ram and late NTR as well. To pay respects to him, Jr NTR and N Kalyan Ram visited the ghat to pay tribute to their grandfather and were mobbed by their fans during the visit.
Later, the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna, aka, Balayya along with his brother Nandamuri Ramakrishna and other family members visited the memorial. After they left, videos of flexi boards and banner removals of NT Rama Rao with photographs of his grandsons Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram being removed from the spot surfaced online and went viral. It is speculated that the banner removal decision was made by Balayya. Reportedly, all is not well between Balayya, Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram.
A few reports claim that the fans of the actors and a few TDP supporters who were at the location assume that Nandamuri Balakrishna and his family members noticed the banners and instructed for their removal. If the reports are anything to go by, the banners were moved away from the entrance and were placed facing away from it.
On the work front, Nandamuri Balakrishna gave two hits in 2023- Veera Simha Reddy and Bhagavanth Kesari. He is gearing up for his upcoming movie tentatively titled NBK109. It is being helmed by Bobby Kolli. Meanwhile, Jr NTR is shooting for Devara. He is all set to mark his debut in Bollywood as well with War 2. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has Srinivas Pradeep Chilukuri’s movie in his kitty.
