Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi Opt Out Of Kamal Haasan Starrer Thug Life? Here What We Know
Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi have reportedly opted out of Mani Ratnam's directorial Thug Life.

South superstar Kamal Haasan is currently busy with his upcoming release Thug Life, one of the most highly anticipated upcoming films in the South cinema. A major report was making rounds on the internet, according to which actor Dulquer Salmaan — who was supposed to be an important part of the film — had decided to opt out of the project. Now, it is being reported that Jayam Ravi has also opted out of the project, owing to issues with dates.

As per a report by OTT Play, due to scheduling conflicts, Jayam Ravi may not be able to participate in the upcoming shooting sessions. Trade analyst Karthik Ravivarma hinted on social media that issues with scheduling are the reason behind Jayam Ravi’s potential withdrawal. There were also earlier reports suggesting Dulquer Salmaan exited the project Thug Life owing to his hectic schedule. The decisions of both actors to step back appear to stem from conflicting commitments and tight schedules, complicating their involvement in Kamal Haasan’s movie. As of now, there has been no official statement from the film’s crew regarding the departures of Dulquer and Jayam Ravi.

During the Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7 finale, Kamal Haasan mentioned ‘Thug Life’ and stressed that Raaj Kamal Films values the quality of their movies more than making a profit. This commitment to quality is evident in the fact that it took over 35 years for him to work with Mani Ratnam again after their collaboration on Nayakan. “If I liked a story, he didn’t like it. And if he liked it, I didn’t. If both of us liked it, some other problems arose. So, it has taken these many years to finally come up with something that we both liked,” he said.

Thug Life is being helmed by Mani Ratnam, who is collaborating with Kamal Haasan after a period of 36 years. The cast of the film also includes names like Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik and Aishwarya Lekshmi. It is being produced by Kamal Haasan, R Mahendran, Mani Ratnam, and Siva Ananth under the banners of Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. AR Rahman is composing the music, while the cinematography is being done by Ravi K Chandran and A Sreekar Prasad is the editor. The film is written by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Kamal Haasan.
