Meena, also known as Meena Sagar, began her journey in the film industry as a child artist in the 1982 film Nenjangal, starring alongside Sivaji Ganesan. She continued to showcase her talent and versatility, working with acclaimed actors like Superstar Rajinikanth in films such as Enkeyo Ketta Kural and Anbulla Rajinikanth.

Despite her flourishing career, Meena addressed the persistent inquiries about her avoidance of glamorous roles. According to reports, Prabhu Deva had advised her to explore bolder and more glamorous projects, but Meena confessed that she felt shy and apprehensive about such roles. She shared an instance when she couldn’t muster the courage to come out of the makeup room wearing a swimming dress, expressing her discomfort with the idea.
