Two Weeks After KD George's Death, Producer Shibu Suseelan Comes Forward To Claim Body

As no one came to claim the body, the officials of the FEFCA Union for Dubbing Artists took over the body and informed them that they were ready for the last rites.

The Malayalam film industry’s veteran dubbing artist, KD George, passed away on December 29, 2023, in the hospital. As per reports, his demise happened due to ill health. After his death, no one came forward to claim the body, and it had been almost two weeks since George’s body was kept in the crematorium. The authorities have not been able to perform cremation as no one has come forward from the family. After hearing this news, popular producer Shibu G. Suseelan shared his memories of the late dubbing artist. He penned down an emotional note on Facebook and came forward to claim the body.

Shibu G. Suseelan, in his Facebook post, expressed himself and shared his anecdotes about meeting KD George. He revealed that he met him in a studio where he was looking for work. He wrote that George was always in need of work and used to travel anywhere for it. Whatever opportunities he received, he used to welcome them with both hands. He added that George’s house was in Kochi, but he used to live in Chennai. He said that he couldn’t go back to his house because he didn’t have enough money. He always wanted work and wished to stay there. He said that he was highly impressed with his dedication and his drive to work.

Continuing in the post, he wrote, “Last December 27th evening, I got a voice note from a stranger on Facebook Messenger along with George Chettan’s dubbing union ID card’s photo. These legs have climbed the stairs of Ernakulam General Hospital on their own. I informed this information to the union office bearers and this. George was admitted to the ICU block on that day itself. Since then, the office bearers from the organisation have analysed things properly and taken care of him.".

Sadly, he couldn’t take the pain, and KD George passed away at 5 p.m. on December 29, 2023. As no one came to claim the body, the officials of the FEFCA Union for Dubbing Artists, an organisation of filmmakers, took over the body and informed the hospital, the corporation, and the police that they were ready for the last rites.
