The latest Malayalam rom-com Premalu starring actors Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles has become one of the biggest hits in recent times in the Malayalam film industry. Directed by Girish AD, the movie has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. Following the successful release of the highly anticipated Telugu version of Premalu last week, the makers are now preparing to launch the Tamil dubbed version of the film.
In an interesting turn of events, the esteemed Tamil production company Red Giant Movies owned by Udhayanidhi Stalin has secured the worldwide distribution rights for the Tamil version of Premalu. This exciting news was shared by Dileesh Pothan, the film’s producer, through a recent Instagram post. “Vanakkam Tamil Nadu, The celebrations get bigger with Red Giant Movies. Premalu’s Tamil version will hit theatres on March 15th. Come… let’s premalu!”
The Tamil version of Premalu is scheduled to be released in theatres on Friday, March 15, 2024. Reports have confirmed that the Tamil dubbing and censor formalities for Naslen and Mamitha Baiju’s starrer have already been completed. The makers of the romantic comedy are now gearing up to commence promotions for the Tamil version by soon releasing the official trailer and songs.
With positive word of mouth and rave reviews, Premalu has captured the hearts of Telugu cinema audience on a large scale. SS Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, acquired the Telugu dubbing rights, leading to the theatrical release of the film on March 9, 2024. The blend of romance and comedy, coupled with its technical excellence, has thoroughly charmed both the Telugu audience and critics alike.
As per the Sacnilk website, Premalu has garnered an impressive box office collection of Rs 51.05 crore. Notably, a significant portion of Rs 49.62 crore was generated from Kerala, with an additional Rs 1.43 crore coming from Telugu-speaking regions. Furthermore, Premalu has left a notable mark overseas, grossing Rs 37.50 crore.
