Apple AirPods 3 Leaked Images Hint at Similar Design to AirPods Pro: What We Know
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had earlier said that the mass production for AirPods 3 will begin in the first half of 2021.

It was earlier reported that the next generation of Apple’s AirPods will come with a similar design to the AirPods Pro with a smaller stem and silicone eartips. Now, leaked live images of the AirPods 3 (unconfirmed name) show that the next gen AirPods will indeed carry a similar design to the AirPods Pro with a smaller stem. The images have been leaked in a Chinese website, which had earlier shared an x-ray image claiming to be of the AirPods 3, but turned out to be fake and simply a compressed x-ray image of the current AirPods Pro.

While the images show the AirPods 3 with a design clearly inspired with the AirPods Pro, there are no Silicon eartips in sight. The charging case also takes a similar shape as the one on Apple AirPods Pro. The report, published in Chinese website 52Audio, says that the AirPods 3 will feature the same Force Sensors as the AirPods Pro. It also says that the next generation AirPods will come with a pressure-relieving system similar to AirPods Pro. The system is meant to equalize pressure within your ear to remove discomfort from using the AirPods for a long period of time.

The third-gen AirPods are also reported to be borrowing touch controls from the AirPods Pro. According to the 52Audio report, each new earbud will have touch controls surfaces, instead of the double-tap controls on the AirPods.

The new AirPods, while carrying a design similar to the AirPods Pro, are expected to lack other ‘Pro’ features like Active Noise cancellation, transparency mode, and Spatial Audio. The report in 52Audio also says that the AirPods 3 will be launched at a price of around $150 (roughly Rs 10,900).

Earlier, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said that the mass production for AirPods 3 will begin in the first half of 2021. A recent Bloomberg report had further said that Apple will not hold an event in March, refuting earlier claims of the company announcing new products next month.
