Cupertino-based giant Apple is said to launch new iMac models this year with a new design and Apple?s in-house silicon chips. Now, it is being reported that the Cupertino-based giant will launch the upcoming iMac models in five colour options, mirroring the colours of the recent iPad Air and going as far back as the original iMac.
The new hint comes from known tipster Jon Prosser (who has predicted things wrongly in the past), who says that the redesigned iMacs will come in Silver, Space Grey, Green, Sky Blue, and Rose Gold colour options. The range of colour options are said to cash in on the nostalgia for the original iMac, which came in a selection of colours like lime, strawberry, blueberry, grape, and tangerine. Prosser did not provide any other information about the upcoming Apple product.
Redesigned iMacs have been reported to come with slimmer bezels and Apple Silicon chips in the past. The new iMac models will replace the current 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs and at least one of the new models will measure at 23-inch to 24-inches. It is not clear what the second iMac size will be.
The redesigned iMac is expected to look quite similar to the Pro Display XDR monitor that Apple released in 2019 with no chin at the bottom of the display. Instead of the curved back panel, the new iMac computers will feature a flat back panel, and prior rumours have suggested that the 2021 iMacs will feature a similar design to the iPad.
Apple also plans to put its in-house Silicon chips on the upcoming 2021 iMac computers. Apple is also reportedly working on an improved GPU technology and is testing 16 and 32-core graphics components, a MacRumours report said.
