Xiaomi has launched the HyperOS version for its latest flagship phones and other old models have got the update as well. The Android 14-based software is Xiaomi’s biggest change in years, after keeping MIUI in the conveyor belt for more than a decade.
The company says HyperOS is not only going to be a mobile-centric platform, but we’ll also see other products added to the ecosystem, including a car.
But for now, many existing Xiaomi users are waiting to know when their devices will get the Android 14-based version. The company has confirmed its plans, at least for H1 of 2024, during the MWC 2024 event this week, and we now know which Xiaomi and Redmi Note phones will be offered the update in the coming weeks.
Xiaomi Phones To Get HyperOS Update In H1 2024
– Xiaomi 14 series (pre-installed)
– Xiaomi 13 series
– Xiaomi 13T series
– Xiaomi 12 series
– Xiaomi 12T series
– Redmi Note 13 series
– Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G
– Redmi Note 12 Pro
– Redmi Note 12 5G
– Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro (pre-installed)
– Xiaomi Pad 6
– Redmi Pad SE
– Xiaomi Watch S3 (pre-installed)
– Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro (pre-installed)
As you would have guessed, the new launches from Xiaomi get the HyperOS version out of the box. Xiaomi Pad 6 has already got the new version, which is also the case with the Xiaomi 13 Pro model.
But talking about the Redmi Notes, Xiaomi is going to update the Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Note 12 series. It is likely that the other phones will also get the HyperOS update but we’ll probably have to wait a little longer in the year to get details on that from the company. Xiaomi says the HyperOS version looks to give its software a fresh start, which suggests we might see better privacy features (as with Android 14), and hopefully less bloatware from the brand.
