Following an adrenaline-charged battle among contestants, Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 came to an end on September 29, with Karan Veer Mehra taking home the coveted winner’s trophy. The grand finale episode saw Karan competing against Abhishek Kumar, Krishna Shroff, Shalin Bhanot and Gashmeer Mahajani. Days after the finale, Abhishek apologised to his fans for disappointing them and not performing up to the mark in the crucial finale stunts.
Expressing regret for his incapability to ace the last few stunts, Abhishek Kumar dropped a sad picture of himself attached to a heartfelt note on his Instagram. It read, “I’m sorry. Mujhe pai ap sab log hurt hain, khatron ki ending achi nhi hui per i promise zindagi ki ending best hogi. Jai Mata di. (I know you guys are hurt. Khatron Ke Khiladi’s journey couldn’t end on a good note. But I promise that life’s ending will be best).”
To give you some background, Abhishek Kumar was pitted against Krishna Shroff in a water stunt. However, the actor aborted the stunt leaving Krishna to secure a position in the top 3. Fellow contestants including Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Sumona Chakravarti and Niyati Fatnani were quick to point out that the former Bigg Boss contestant did not give his best.
Although Abhishek Kumar could not emerge as the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, he managed to meet his favourite star, none other than Alia Bhatt. FYI, Alia made an appearance on the finale episode of Khatron Ke Khiladi to promote her film Jigra alongside Vedang Raina.
Posting a few pictures with Alia Bhatt on his Instagram, Abhishek Kumar shared how life had come full circle for him. Abhishek worked as a crowd artist on Alia’s 2014 romcom Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, co-starring Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Shukla.
Abhishek Kumar rose to fame with his role in the popular TV show Udaariyaan, which aired on Colors TV. In the show, he starred alongside Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Ankit Gupta and Isha Malviya. Later, he entered the Bigg Boss 17 house where he finished as the first runner-up as Munawar Faruqui won the title of the winner.
Meanwhile, Khatron Ke Khiladi, hosted by Rohit Shetty, saw an interesting lineup of participants this season including Sumona Chakravarti, Gashmeer Mahajani, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Shalin Bhanot, Karan Veer Mehra, Krishna Shroff, Ashish Mehrotra, Shilpa Shinde, Abhishek Kumar, Aditi Sharma and Niyati Fatnani.
