Ahmedabad’s love for cheese is no secret among food enthusiasts. It seems to find its way into every dish, sometimes unexpectedly and, let’s be honest, often disappointingly. And now, a new sensation has hit the streets: ‘Cheese Ice Gola,’ causing quite a stir on the internet. Who would have thought of adding a cheesy twist to the beloved summer cooler Ice Golas?
In a video shared by food vlogger Siddharth Shah, an eatery presents its latest creation, the ‘Cheese Ice Gola.’ The process starts conventionally, with sweet syrups and thickened cream, the usual suspects in any Ice Gola. But then, the unexpected happens – grated cheese is sprinkled over it, giving it a whole new flavor. To top it off, more syrup, dried fruits, and other toppings are added.

But really, who would dare to try such a strange combination that neither tastes cheesy nor anything like a traditional Gola?

The comments section was flooded with similar disgusted reactions. One user wrote, “Worst combo,” while another questioned, “Do these Gujaratis not get tired of adding cheese to everything?” Yet another said, “I like the hygiene but I would still pass this. Hell of cheese on everything. No wonder why our youth keep getting cardiac arrest.”
Earlier, this love affair with cheese in Ahmedabad resurfaced once more in a video featuring a woman preparing Nutella Cheese Pasta on the streets, which seemed to scare away potential tasters.

Posted on the Instagram page @the_fingerlicking_tales, the video showcased a young lady selling Nutella Cheese Pasta at Cept Khau Gali in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. The process started conventionally, with the making of white sauce pasta: melting butter in a pan, adding flour, a cup of milk, salt, and pasta. However, the twist came when she generously added Nutella on top of the dish, followed by grated cheese and more Nutella, leaving foodies disappointed.
