Imagine indulging in your favourite dessert, only to have your enjoyment interrupted by a disturbing detection. This scenario became a reality for a customer in Lucknow. In a viral video circulating online, a customer at Lucknow’s Lulu Mall was shocked to find a worm in his kulfi falooda (Indian dessert). Apparently, the customer purchased the falooda from the ‘Falooda Nation’ outlet located within the mall premises.

The viral footage depicted the moment when the customer approached the staff at the kulfi counter, expressing concern about the unexpected discovery. Notably, the video also captured the customer’s attempts to inquire about the name of the employee who served him the dessert. However, the employee remained silent and did not disclose his name despite the customer’s persistent questioning.

The staff offered to prepare a fresh serving, but the customer declined and continued to express dissatisfaction. Even then, the employee continued to insist on providing a replacement falooda, but the customer remained firm in his request for a refund. Eventually, the outlet agreed and refunded the customer’s money.

The video has been making rounds across multiple social media platforms. A user, who posted the video on X (formerly Twitter), provided a caption in Hindi, stating, “An insect was found in the ice cream of Falooda Nation at the grand Lulu Mall. Instead of rectifying the food item, the Falooda Nation store manager got involved in selling expired ice cream.” The date of the incident could not be confirmed.

Watching the viral video, numerous online users voiced their apprehensions in the comments section. A user advised caution, stating, “Be careful and avoid visiting that shop,” while another expressed, “This incident could undermine people’s confidence in dining out.”

A user adopted a sarcastic tone, humorously suggesting, “Holi Offer: Complimentary insect with every falooda! If it were sold by a roadside vendor, the consequences would be severe.” “Lulu mall me kuch nahi khana (Do not eat anything at Lulu Mall),” a user wrote.

The reports of finding insects in food at various establishments have unfortunately become quite common. Adding to this alarming trend, a recent incident unfolded at Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place, New Delhi. In a viral video, a woman discovered eight cockroaches inside the plain dosa she had ordered. Shocked by this unsettling discovery, the woman promptly lodged a complaint at a local police station in Delhi. Furthermore, the woman highlighted that the restaurant failed to present a valid license when questioned by the police.
