The internet never fails to amaze us with its unusual content. Weird food experiments are another category that has intrigued the audiences. From Fanta Maggi to Oreo Pakoda, and even Chocolate Omelette, videos of bizarre food combinations keep emerging on social media now and then. Well, credit goes to the food vloggers who show how these eateries or food stalls prepare and serve strange foods. Just when we thought we’d seen it all, a new dish became viral.
A new clip that is now circulating on social media depicts a street vendor preparing a Gulab Jamun Dosa. Yes! As weird as it may sound, it’s true. Taking to Instagram, a food vlogger with the handle Foodpandits shared a video of this weird dish prompting reactions from several users.
The clip features a street vendor resembling the Canadian singer The Weeknd, putting three pieces of gulab jamun on the hot dosa batter. He then smashes the Gulab jamun balls and spreads them evenly. Next, he added some coconut flakes, cream, and sugar syrup and folded it in a triangle shape. Lastly, the vendor finished off the sweet delicacy by topping it with some more coconut flakes and cream. “Atrangi Gulab Jamun Dosa,” the video caption reads.
But here’s a catch, the food vlogger actually liked this oddly fascinating dessert. Also in the video, the food vlogger could be seen talking to the vendor about this unusual combination of the popular South Indian cuisine with another popular dessert. The vendor shared that he prepared this dish on customer demand and would even prepare Rasgulla Dosa or Barfi Dosa in the future.
Soon after the video was shared online it gathered the audience’s attention prompting hilarious reactions from the users. A user wrote, “Dukh is baat ka nahi ki wo kya bana raha hai…dukh is baat ka hai ki aap wo khaa rahe ho (The sad part is not about what is he making, the sad part is that you’re eating this).” Another added, “Aliens need to invade us now.” One of them added, “Kyu aise kar rahe ho bhai (Why are you doing this).” Another user commented, “Isko dosa nahi Crepe bolte hai (It is called crepe, not dosa).
Some users also commented on the vendor’s look resembling the Canadian singer. One of them wrote, “Weeknd from the streets.” Another wrote, “Weeknd on weekends.”
The video has staked 30 lakh views since it was first shared on Instagram and the numbers are gradually increasing.
