How Vedanta Founder Anil Agarwal's Mother Inspired Him To Start The Company

Wishes and heartwarming stories surfaced all over the Internet on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Anil Agarwal, Founder and Chairman of Vedanta Group, also paid tribute to his mother in a touching post on X (formerly Twitter). In his post, Anil Agarwal revealed how his mother’s unwavering support and encouragement inspired him to persevere despite numerous setbacks in his entrepreneurial journey.

With all his mother’s support, Anil founded Vedanta Group and named the company after her, Vedvati Agarwal.

“After failing multiple times in business, I nearly gave up. I was lost, demotivated and disturbed. Tab Maa ne bola tha “Anil aage badhte jao darwaze khulte jaenge. (Anil, keep moving forward, doors will keep opening).” It wasn’t easy, but unki blessings se I kept moving forward. It was with these words, and with Maa’s blessings, I started all over again. That’s how Vedanta was born, a company named after my mother Vedvati Agarwal. It is a tribute to her strength and wisdom. Happy Mother’s Day!” he wrote. Alongside the touching message, Anil also shared a cherished photograph of him and his mother.

Anil’s post amassed over 72,000 views. His heartfelt tribute struck a chord with many, who flooded the comment section with admiration and praise.
