A new craze has taken Giridih by storm: fried ice cream! This unique dessert is creating a buzz among residents of all ages. Making its debut in the district, fried ice cream has quickly become a must-try treat, with people returning again and again for more. While popular dishes like fried momos and fried chicken have long been favourites, fried ice cream is now stealing the spotlight with its irresistible charm.

The excitement surrounding this dessert is remarkable. Not only is it unique, but it also offers an exceptional taste. Over 100 pieces are being sold daily, showing its rising popularity. Prices for fried ice cream vary based on the flavour, ranging from Rs 80 to Rs 150. The most popular option, vanilla-flavoured fried ice cream, is priced at Rs 99.

How to Make the Fried Ice Cream?

Speaking to Local18, Rajvardhan Kumar, the skilled artisan behind this delightful treat, shared the recipe for this unique dessert. He explained that the process is quite special and requires attention to detail. First, vanilla ice cream is made using a mixture of vanilla powder and milk, which is then frozen at an extremely low temperature of -30 degrees Celsius. Once the ice cream solidifies, it is coated with a layer of crunchy cornflakes. This coated ice cream ball is then deep-fried to create a delicious contrast — crispy and golden on the outside, while the ice cream remains cold and creamy on the inside. To enhance both the visual appeal and taste, the fried ice cream is finally garnished with colourful rice sprinkles, making it not only a flavourful indulgence but also a visually stunning dessert.

Rajvardhan mentioned that in addition to vanilla, the shop offers a variety of other flavours, including chikoo, pineapple, strawberry and mango. All these flavours have been well-received, with customers choosing their favourites based on personal preference. The shop operates from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., allowing people to drop by and savour this delightful treat at any time throughout the day.

Fried ice cream has introduced an exciting and delicious new option for dessert lovers in Giridih. Given the increasing popularity of this unique treat, it’s safe to predict that it will soon become a go-to favourite among food enthusiasts in the area. With shops open from morning until late evening, Giridih residents and visitors have ample opportunity to indulge in this delicious treat, making it one of the biggest food trends in the district.
