'It Is Unsafe To Travel With Them': Delhi Doctor 'Boycotts' Uber After Meeting With An Accident
The doctor blamed the Uber driver for his rash driving she met with an accident.

Ride-hailing services like Uber have become quite demanding in the present time. They are convenient, secure and available almost 24/7. However, these app-based cab services also come with a few setbacks, with passengers often raising multiple complaints against the company. From high fares to rash driving or indecent driver behaviour, there are several reports of customer grievances about these services. One such serious report recently came to the fore after a Delhi doctor shared the distressing ordeal that she experienced while travelling in an Uber cab. The incident in question involves a female passenger who ended up getting injured during the ride.

Dr Ruchika recently shared the episode in an X thread, vowing to boycott the company’s services. Mentioning that she was travelling from her home to the nearby metro station, she shared that an accident took place due to the driver’s rash driving.

“I am boycotting @Uber_India. It has become unsafe to travel with them now as drivers without Driving License or experience are on the roads, without taking any safety measures & care for the passengers. I met with an ACCIDENT yesterday,” she wrote raising concerns about the passengers’ safety.

In the following tweets, Dr Ruchika gave a detailed account of the trouble that she went through, stating how the driver tried taking a U-turn without any indicator and ended up leaving her injured. The woman also posted a picture of her injured hand and added that she was prompted to stay on full bed rest with heavy medications, and torn muscles, and even had to miss her office and classes.

“I am bearing all the losses, be it financially, physically or emotionally. All the major bills that I’ve to pay. All the trauma I’ve to go through. All the loss, from not being able to go to office to miss my classes for my higher studies. How will I over come that?” she added.

In her post, Ruchika also pointed out that the driver did not have a license as she urged Uber India to verify drivers. While the tweet drew a lot of reactions from users, who showed concern for her, the official Uber handle also responded. “This sounds rather frightening and we hope you and the driver are safe, Ruchika. Please share the registered contact details from which this trip was booked via DM. Our safety team will be in touch with you shortly,” it wrote.

On the other hand, X users flooded the comment section, slamming the cab services for such careless behaviour, even asking the company to pay the medical bills for Ruchika.
