‘My Naughtiest Student Is Now A Teacher’: Woman's Touching Post Impresses Internet

We often come across several inspirational stories on social media, ranging from people battling illness to overcoming poverty. These stirring tales of real life heroes have a great influence on our mindsets. Now, a story of a teacher and her student is doing the rounds on the internet. This tale has yet again proved that teachers play a vital role in shaping the lives of children. They are the most impactful guiding force in every individual’s life.

Recently, a teacher shared a touching journey of her former student on X (Formerly Twitter), tracing her transformation over the span of 13 years. In her series of posts, X user Revs shared Alisha’s story from being ‘one of the naughtiest kids’ in her class to a special needs teacher.

Revs dropped two pictures featuring herself and Alisha. Alisha had a reputation for her fiery personality and impatience. Speaking about her, Revs mentioned, “Other teachers in school warned me about Alisha. She was a fire brand.” Revs further wrote, “She was her own boss. Doing what she wanted to do when she wanted to do it.” Revs said she used to spend her entire time thinking about Alisha’s future, wondering if she would find purpose in education. She wondered if she ‘could do something to help her better the circumstances of her life’.

Two years after Revs fellowship ended at an organisation, she received an essay from a teacher from the organisation written by Alisha on the topic ‘Which person do you admire the most.’ The letter deeply moved her, as Alisha wrote about Revs in her essay. Revs said she was distressed thinking whether Alisha would overcome the challenges she faced at home.

As the years passed, Alisha got enrolled in college during the pandemic, feeling lost and uncertain about her path. In 2024, Alisha became a teacher in Mumbai’s school, specialising in working with children with special needs.

When asked why she chose teaching, especially with special-needs children, Alisha credited Revs for believing in her. Alisha expressed her desire to support children deemed ‘naughty’ and underestimated by others.

Alisha told Revs, “Didi, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher like you, and I’ve always wanted to be a teacher for kids who everyone thought were naughty and not capable of doing anything. You believed in me and loved me and didn’t treat me like a nuisance.”

Revs, in her X post, said when she chose to become a teacher in 2011, she didn’t think of all the amazing, profound and meaningful ways in which it would change her life. “The deep love, compassion, and forgiveness I received from the children I taught, their parents, and the many ways in which it fundamentally changed me as a person,” Revs wrote.
